JUMPING IN POOL STOCK

How Long Does it Take to Build a Pool?

One of the most frequently asked questions we hear from potential customers is how long it will take to build a pool. While our contracts are typically written with the time frame of 45-90 days, the answer is more specifically determined based upon a variety of factors, including the size and design of the pool, the time of year, and the weather. So just how long will it be¬†before you can jump in? Let’s have a look!

Size and Design of Pool
The size and design of a pool has a major influence of the amount of time required to complete construction. The time required to dig the pool and to install steel, electrical components, and tile will be less than that of a large pool. Additionally, extra time will be allotted if the design of the pool includes intricate water features such as a waterfall, sheer descent, or fountain.

Time of Year
Due to the nature of the pool construction industry, certain times of year are busier than others, thus increasing the amount of time it will take to begin construction on a project. While contracts are written to ensure construction will be completed in a specified amount of time, the start date of contracts can be affected by a high volume of contracted jobs. Typically, our company is busiest between the months of April and September.

Weather
Because swimming pool construction typically occurs outdoors, the weather can have a major influence on the duration of the construction process. The most common weather related challenge that we face is rain. Unfortunately, even if we experience only one day of rain, construction is often delayed by several days, as wet ground can easily be damaged by heavy equipment, therefore compromising the structural integrity of the swimming pool.
